Initially I was a bit hesitant to do a shoot of my daughter’s baptism, because I didn’t want the shoot stopping us from real life and to only end up with posed pictures.  I’m glad I didn’t let my fears stop me! Katia is so professional and captures the most precious moments as they happen!

My favorite part of the shoot was just being a family in our daily interactions and see that beauty and love show up in the photos.

Hiring a photographer is nerve-wracking: you want good pictures of course, but there's the worry that you're going to look terrible or the kid is going to have a meltdown or having the photographer there is going to be awkward.  But with Katia none of those worries materialize.  She has a way of making everyone comfortable, fading into the background when needed but also providing direction and guidance when needed, and of course taking amazing photos.  Despite having a really bad day (and having a meltdown or two which Katia handled with grace!) my daughter's pictures turned out amazing.

[My favorite part of our session] would be a toss-up between feeding the giraffes at the zoo and eating donuts but I think the zoo was so much fun. Especially for events like feeding the giraffes, as a parent in that moment I have to focus on making sure that my kid doesn't eat the giraffe food or lick her giraffe-y hands so sometimes I miss out on seeing my daughter's reactions in the moment.  It's so much fun to have Katia's photos to look back on to see reactions and facial expressions that I couldn't necessarily catch in that moment.

Working with Katia is easy, never awkward or uncomfortable which was a worry of mine.  Of course as Ana Sofia’s mom I think my little girl is pretty special.  But hearing feedback from friends and even strangers who have seen her photos made it clear to me that Katia was able to capture what makes Ana Sofia so special!
